Eons passed just like the shades of the faraway clouds, Silent standing at the gates - should it e'er change, But beware, for someone is bringing the keys, And the guardians should now the Seven Gates unlock. Evil face, bright yellow glowing eyes, This one gives each Guardian a key of his Gate, And the seventh one is amazed, he's in anger and awe As he meets his old foe... But he's taken the key. Chapter I: Dark Water was conceived as the stand-alone mini-album, the first part of albums trilogy "The Book of the Shattered Bonds" . Except Track 3 written in 2004, these songs were composed in 1999-2000 and comprised the earliest 2000 demo by "Lacklustre Mirror" which was then a one-man project.

They were re-recorded in 2005 to be released as first proper album by Lacklustre Mirror. At that time it was a name for a full band, however these songs were produced by the band's keyboardist and singer b. alone.

Shadowplay Records label (the one which, thanks to Count Ash from Moon Far Away, eventually agreed to release Lacklustre Mirror's records) said there's not enough material for a stand-alone release, so eventually "Dark Water" was combined with the trilogy's second part, "Shattered Bonds", resulting in a lengthy 22-tracks debut CD.

For Bandcamp "release" the first part is separated from the other, just the way it was initially conceived.
